This is my favorite place to eat in Florida! It's small and perfect. Family owned and always fresh. I highly recommend it. I bring everyone that comes to visit.

Wow, i've lived in Cape Coral now for year and a half. We thought about trying this place but tonight we actually got there. I had the seafood paella, and my wife had the seafood soup. Portion wise I brought home enough that I think will make two more meals. My wife however greedily ate all the seafood from her soup and didn't bring anything home. Sum it up to say this is now my favorite restaurant in Cape Coral. Food was amazingly delicious generous portions and really reasonable. Our first time but we will be back many more times to come. Our waiter, Reynato, was great and extremely helpful. My wife loves seafood but not so much fish. She told him and they left out the fish and put extra seafood in soup.

I am truly surprised by some of the reviews here. I have been to this restaurant several times and each time have been completely impressed with the quality, value and most of all service. The servers are diligent, attentive and know the food well. There were a couple of bumps in the road each handled with grace, empathy and hospitable professionalism. Makes me wonder when people review about slow service if the place wasn't packed to the gills like a great eatery often is. Papas a la huancaina, tacu tacu and the antichucos de Corazon, not to mention the sudado de pescado. And YES green spaghetti! Its a family place, the food is as fresh and as real as it gets. Go, enjoy!

Good experience, good food. Never eaten Peruvian food before. Friendly, helpful service. Enjoyed the seafood paella and beef/green spaghetti. Very large portions. Clean and comfy ambience. Would return periodically if lived in area for exotic menu.

We eat here about twice a month. I love the steamed seafood soup. Wife loves the shrimp fried rice. We get the same thing every time now. I got a beef plate dinner once and the beef was a bit dryer than I like but I think this is the tradition for the dish.

A SAD EXPERIENCE & VERY SLOW SERVICE I was actually the "First to Review" this place some two years ago and had a good memory of our time there. We have been looking forward to returning & even purchased a restaurant.com coupon in anticipation of the event. We arrived early (Florida style) on a Monday at 4:30 for dinner. We started with the Palta Rellena Camaron, which was avacado stuffed with shrimp. It was a huge helping, plenty for two as an appetizer, but the stuffing had very little shrimp, and instead contained an abundance of mayonnaise, peas, corn and carrots. The result was not impressive. For dinner we had the grilled chicken with salad and rice and the grilled pork chops with rice and beans. The meal was average. The rice was undercooked. Our appetizer arrived after 30-40 minutes and the actual dinner at 5:45. We had a Tres Leches for dessert & it was quite good. At 6:05 I asked for & received the bill, and gave the server the restaurant.com coupon. She said, sorry we can't accept it after 6 pm. Huh? I've never run into this before, and we'd been there since 4:30. It was only after 6 due to their super slow service. She was steadfast and refused to accept it. We paid and left. Doubt we'll be back. There are too many other good restaurants around, including Peruvian. El Gaucho Inca shall remain our favorite.

First off I love Peruvian food and its my favorite and when I first moved down here from Jersey, this was home away from home. However, in the last three years the quality of service and food has gone down tremendously. Let just take the rice...arroz chafua, I mean how can you serve this with that boiled rice? Any Latino can tell you long grain Canilla style is the way to go. The texture of that rice they use is horrible and not appetizing at all. So there goes most of the Peruvian staples that are typically served with rice. Next, the pollo on the braza...what happened?? I have ordered take out and to my surprise when I get home ....a burnt chicken. I did complain and the chicken was free of charge on my next order. But it can be very inconsistent. Great tasty food one day. Half assed and not much thought another day. To tell you Pollo Tropical has replaced them in our home as far as chicken is concerned. Leche de tigre is still a favorite but just last Friday for the first time I couldn't eat it....it was so bitter. Tsk Tsk. I want to love this place but as mentioned before inconsistent in all aspects. I did taste their new location of of cape coral pkwy and the service was horrible! So yea it okay for me but on a positive note I will have to say this place is better than the other Peruvian place in Cape.

Been living in Cape Coral for 4 months now and completely disappointed by the quality and selection of ethnic restaurants in Ft. Myers area. This is the first place I actually really liked. It's authentic Peruvian food (at least based on my experience with Peruvian food in NYC). The owners and kitchen/wait staff seem to be Peruvian too (at least some of them), which is always a good sign ! They have photos and description of famous sites in Peru in the menu and on the walls- well done ! The TV is a nuisance (for practically any restaurant IMHO, unless a Sports bar), but seems to be the way of this day and age. Sangria wasn't the best, but the food was excellent ! Will definitely go back.

I was born in Peru, we asked for rice and seafood ..Arroz con mariscos, not only not good but they got confused it was not Chinese fried rice! We ordered Jalea is was just ok, the marinated onions that came withe dish were not fresh. Tamal was not peruvian tamal, Service was poor, we waited forever to have our food and they gave me $49 short on my change!!!!I had to call and ask for my money!!! Wouldn't ever go there ...food is bad...maybe if you hadn't ever tried peruvian food...or bad luck the chef was sick or off...

We love this palce..we found it by accident and it is one of our favorite places to dine in Fort Myers area. The food is always fresh and tasty..we tried many things here and all are great. Love the sweet plantains and the Flan as well.. I'm a great chief and know good food..in an area with not too many good choices this place stands out! When the check comes be prepared as I always think it's way inexpensive for what I get...

Other than waiting almost an hour for our food which has never happened before (apparently they had a lot of to go orders), the food was fabulous as always... in fact it tasted better than ever! If we had to wait that long at anywhere else we would have gotten up and left.

Delicious! Very flavorful! Pork tamale was better than any tamale I've had! Cevice was great! Service was good food was great I'll be back for sure!!! Huge portions for the price.

So I read all these great reviews and had to try it. The shrimp stuffed in the avocado looked wonderful... what I got was anything but. Looked like they used a frozen vegetable mix of carrots, corn, peas and string beans and then a little bit of shrimp. Certainly wasn't worth the price. I also tried the ceviche and it tasted very good. But six hours later when I was visiting the Banjo with stomach pains... I decided maybe it wasn't as fresh as it should have been. Would I go back there again no..., sorry... maybe it used to be good but it certainly isn't anymore. Very average.

Overall excellent food and great service. We went to Ahi Limon for lunch and overall really enjoyed the experience. For all three of us it was our first visit. We arrived shortly after noon on what turned out to be a very busy day. For the next ninety minutes or so a constant stream of couples and large families arrived. We felt quite fortunate to have gotten a table inside as most were forced to go to the outdoor courtyard to eat or wait for a table inside. Regardless we were greeted almost immediately and seated very quickly at the last available table. Our server was extremely friendly, professional and attentive (I'm afraid I've forgotten her name) and the decor is quite very attractive. The photos of the food around the ceiling are a little unusual but to us, new to Peruvian food, very helpful. We told our server this was to be our first experience with Peruvian food and from then on she, and every other server, would stop by our table to show us the food they were about to deliver to other diners. It was an especially thoughtful touch considering how busy everyone was. The beef heart skewer was the only disappointment, while flavorful they were quite tough and therefore very chewy and difficult to eat. The ceviche however was very fresh, tender and, as we requested, quite spicy. The black bean tacu tacu with grilled chicken was perfectly cooked and delicious. The dessert case looked interesting and our server very patiently described the choices and also mention that freshly made Peruvian donuts were available. We ordered a slice of cake (our server brought over a photo to show us the Peruvian fruit featured in the cake) and an order of the donuts. Both were ridiculously delicious and, when the bill came, only $4.00 each! We were very pleased with our whole experience and can't wait to go back!!

Great ceviche and paella cooked to order. Loaded with seafood. Had leftovers today. Don't know how they do it for such low prices.

I recently went to Cape Coral with my girlfriend to visit my father. We went to Aji Limon for dinner one day and I must say I truly enjoyed everything we ordered. I especially liked the plata rellena, the papas a la huancaina, and the aji de gallina. Having lived in Lima for 3 years I must say the food was pretty comparable to the one here at Aji Limon. The staff were all very nice and polite; and the prices were reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place if you are craving some South American food!

This is probably my second favorite Peruvian restaurant in Southwest Florida, after El Patio. The food was quite good, but not *quite* as good as the aforementioned. Also, the service was so-so. A little slow and my water was never refilled, even though it sat empty for half the meal. Plus they were out of alfajores, which was disappointing.

I really was pleasantly surprised. The place has a casual atmosphere and very clean. I was not sure what to order but the pictures were appetizing. I ordered pollo saltado and it was excellent. I live over 20 miles and will definetly go again. Nancy http://Http://missionorganizing.com

Were excited to try this since it's close to home & were tired of the same old fried fish baskets everywhere else...WOW so many unusual options! Small narrow place like you would find in a large city...waitress came & took our drink order...I had the house Sangria and hubby a beer. Since Peru has had many influences from different cultures...mainly their conquerors during their history, plus the influence of immigrants, such as Japan, China, Africa and Spain, they have quite a variety of dishes! Husband had the green noodles with sauteed steak which was DELICIOUS ..served with a thick potato slice topped with their yellow,,slightly spicy sauce..YUM! I had the Tacu Tacu which had a HUGE "pancake" made with rice, lentils & other delicious goodies..with grilled steak & onion salad which was really good! The steak was slightly dry but topped with the marinated red onion salad, it was very tasty! TOO full for dessert but will DEFINITELY come back to try all the other interesting dishes offered! You know the place is good when most of the customers in there were of Spanish-speaking and the food is authentic. WHAT a refreshing change from all the SAME OLD cuisine all over town. Generous portions and laid-back service..not slow..just let us enjoy & were there when needed!

I love local joints. This place has great staff. I love getting little dish's to snack on while you order and wait. The lunch deal cannot be beat. Great value! Our food was fresh and flavorful. Nothing seemed frozen or sub par.

We've never had Peruvian food before, so we were more than pleasantly surprised. We were served roasted corn kernels with a spicy dipping sauce that was awesome. I had sautéed chicken with a side of sweet plantains. The chicken was excellent, seasoned just right and sweet plantains are to die for. My dining companion had the sautéed shrimp and he absolutely loved it. Would have given 5 stars but the service was slow- our drink order was taken and took almost 10 minutes before received (no water on the table either). We will definitely be back!

What a find this was! Tucked into a strip mall across from Mel's Diner on Pine Island Rd, it is a casual Peruvian restaurant. i didn't know what Peruvian food was, but I had assumed it was Mexican-like. I was wrong. Apparently, Peruvian food is similar to good Italian food. Fresh ingredients combined in heaping platters of homemade goodness. I had a dish of seafood in a very light sauce over pasta, others in my party had a huge Paella, marinated skirt steak with salad, rice and plaintains, and a huge tower of lightly breaded deep fried seafood. Everything was cooked perfect and it is very hard to get seafood in dishes to all be cooked correctly without overcooking something but they did it. The calamari rings melted in your mouth instead of turning into rubberbands you have to choke down like I've had in other restaurants. The Peruvian beer by itself is worth the trip, clean tasting and just a hint of the mountains. The sangria and wine were average. The atmosphere is very family-like, this is not fine dining, but it is very clean and solid. Beautiful videos of the mountain landscapes and Peru culture play on the TV screen, while Native South American flute music plays softly in the background. Because it is unusual fare for typical customers in the area, it's great that they add a lot of pictures to the descriptions and on the wall. I can see coming back again and again to try some of the less familiar dishes. An example of the menu- 1/4 of a Roasted Chicken with two sides is $4.99! If you ever are tired of the same old thing, but want really good food, give this place a try. When the owner comes out to check on your meal, I'll bet you do what we did and tell him "Bueno!"

Went yesterday for lunch, very authentic, very friendly. Get the Papa a la Huancaina for an appetizer. (Potoatoes with yellow sauce). Had the ceviche mixto, perfect! Great friendly service, the owner came over to make sure all was ok. I will be back!

It's hard to be super positive with only one visit. My wife and I stopped in for Sunday dinner. The waitress and waiter (daughter and son of the owner perhaps?) were smiling and helpful. Wanting something "local" I ordered Tacu Tacu with Bistek, a fried bean, rice tortilla with grilled flank steak. My wife ordered Pescado a la Chorrillana, a tomato/onion/fish dish. When hers came it had 1 small piece of fish (tilapia maybe) with a tablespoon of sliced onion and tomato and a heaping portion of french fries! French Fries? I am unfamiliar with tacutacu but it was dry and bland. Eating it was like chewing dried grain. There were several thin slices of grilled flank steak, ok but also dry. The dish could have been improved with some sort of sauce. My 3 star rating reflects the decor as much as the food. The decorating is colorful and we enjoyed the Peruvian slide show on the large screen TV. But it would take a few more visits sampling other offerings to garner a more glowing review.

The food was great. I had the shimp ceviche (yum) and the steak - it was cooked to perfection and seasoned very well. My mom had the seafood soup and she couldn't get enough of it. The Rice (such a common side) had great flavor! Everyone at our table (6 of us) was very happy with the food and service! Can't wait to visit Cape Coral again and come by Ahi Limon!

Hard to find, but worth it. Small storefront mom and pop type restaurant. Ceviche is amazing. For dinner, I had seco de res, & my friend had tacu tacu, both outstanding. Service was impeccable. Only reason it wasn't 5 stars is the setting - somewhat cafeteria-like, but clean and comfortable. No liquor license yet, so BYO. Wayyyy on my comeback list.

Great Find! The room is cute and inviting. The staff was very friendly and helped us with suggestions and recommendations. We had ceviche to start with hot sauce on the side. For entrees we tried 2 of the Tacu Tacus, one with chicken and the other with steak. Both were very tasty...great rice/beans. We also tried the pork chop with green spaghetti, sounds weird but delicious. For dessert the doughnuts and a slice of cake. Both were excellent. I highly recommend this gem!

The previous reviews raved about this place. granted they were very busy on a Friday, and seemed to have a following of local folks. birthday parties etc. We have never had Peruvian food before, and were looking forward to a new exciting venture. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated inside. We were looking forward to some assistance and suggestions of what to order from this delicious menu, but as soon as we showed the restaurant.com certificate, the climate instantly changed. We were reminded immediately that it was cash only, and they were already including their 18% gratuity on the top regardless of service. No joke. It took 20 minutes to receive our appetizers, which were overly saturated chicken salad sandwiches. When the waitress finally showed up at the table, trying to explain the food had a strange odor, it was just shrugged off, dumped with no offer for something instead. They both appeared on the bill anyway. She moved on to continue her conversation to another table. Ignored the entire night except to drop food off. Our drinks were never refilled. The entree's had a burnt taste to them, and the squid and octopus was overcooked and rubbery. Everything was overly salted. I do not know what has happened here since the last review in Sept 2011 but this experience was disappointing. Also double check your bill as the "computer" can not total items correctly. Must be that new Florida math.

Extraordinary distinctive, flavorful foods that are zesty but not spicy. The fish whether in the uncommonly good ceviche or main dishes could not have been fresher. Finishing with delectable desserts completed the meal. The extroverted helpful servers were very patient and accepted our restaurant.com certificate graciously.

Delicious!! We ate here after buying a restaurants.com gift certificate. The owner used to work at el patio in Fort Myers. the menu is similar to el patio, but i am not sure if that is just because its all Peruvian. but boy is it yummy. their rice was even scrumptious! civiche according to my other half was great! I had a meal that had a picture on the menu, steak (Peruvian style), papa a la huancina, and i subbed spinach pasta for rice (the spinach noodles are a bit gummy for me). the wait staff was friendly and attentive, and very personable (doesnt happen so much when you use those certificates). we even tipped extra and will definitely be back. we brought my 1 year old who made a huge mess and received a lollipop! the waitress even played with her and smiled at her every time she passed the table. has a cute patio outside as well, a little close to pine island rd, but on a nice fall nice looks like it would be great anyway.

I went to the restaurant because a friend recommended it. I'll admit I had my doubts about trying it, but I do not regret it! The food was exquisite. The decoration of every dish was really nice also. The staff was very warming and answered all of our questions. I will make sure to go back to Aji Limon very soon!
